COVID-19 cases have started to rise again in more than half of the U.S., possibly pointing to the beginning of a new surge.
Infections had been constantly declining from about mid-September through late October. However, the country is now reporting, on average, over 83,000 cases in a day. This translates to a 14% rise from last week and 12% from the week prior to that. Michigan and Minnesota are leading the country when it comes to highest cases per capita, where infections have increased over 60% during a 2-week period, reported The New York Times.
While the increase in infections hasn′t yet resulted in a country-wide surge in hospitalizations and deaths, but crisis hospitalization levels have been reached in certain parts of the West, Mountain West and upper Midwest… (Medscape)
